Throughout the course, a seasoned teach with 2 TAs will work with the students to build an 80's classic game: Battle City Here are some highlights of this premium camp: 1. GameMaker as the programming software: we use professional game development tool GameMaker. Unlike other camps where the toy program Scratch is used. 2. One-year membership of GameMake will be included 3. Small class size: we only allow a maximum of 12 students per class 4. One teacher plus two TAs at all time: we have a teacher-student ratio of 1:4, to provide more focused teaching and assistance in a virtual environment 5. Tutorials ready: each lesson comes with a written tutorial in PDF format with detailed instructions and screenshots, making it easier for students to recap 6. Online forum: we have an online form where students can ask questions after class, and the teacher and TAs will constantly monitor the questions and provide answers. 7. Curriculum design: the curriculum is designed with fun and learning in mind. We will touch popular programming knowledge through fun curriculum design and interactive teaching methodology. By the end of the camp, each kid will have: 1. His/Her own version of the Battle City game 2. Learned programming skills: variable definition, control flow, object-oriented concept, math in programming, physics in programming 3. Learned game programming knowledge: sprite creation, object management, character movement, sound effect, animation effect, score tracking and more We will be hosting a live demo class on July 9 at 7 pm.
