RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
· Develops and sources fabrics & trims that meet the desired qualitystandards
· Builds relationship and rapport with the suppliers, as well asunderstands and leverages their capabilities
· Provides support for the designers and production teams on constructionand on the technical capability of vendors to deliver the products required.
· Places orders and negotiates pricing as well as ensures timely delivery.
· Ensures that all deadlines on the company calendar are met.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:
· 5 years of apparel or textile industry experience and a workingknowledge of the industry. A strong technical background in Raw Materials andTrims.
· Strong knowledge of development techniques, (process/equipment etc.) forfabrics and the fabric development process and timelines.
· Strong technical knowledge gained in manufacturing environment coveringall areas of textiles from leather, material construction, finishes andprinting.
· Strong knowledge of industry testing standards/test reports.
· Strong knowledge of cross-functional team accountabilities andrequirements preferred, including design, sourcing, merchandising and qualityassurance and calendar.
· Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic workflow
· Attention to detail,problem solving capabilities, multitasking and energized to make a difference
