Principal Accountabilities Manage team of QC technicians Verify and follow up daily inspection records filled by operator and QC technicians. Develop, implement, maintain and update Quality assurance programs according to federal/provincial regulation, FDA regulation, HACCP, and BRC standard. Working with other department supervisors (e.g.: production management, R&D, Purchasing, Maintenance, Sanitization, etc.) to ensure the raw materials, equipment, manufacturing process, product specifications, labelling are compliant to safety and quality standards. Assist in training staff on company procedures, and evaluate the effectiveness of the training. Ensure employee's practices (GMP) and products meet all relevant regulatory and company requirements. Perform investigation and documenting related to customer complaints and daily non-conformities, apply corrective action and preventive action associated. Monitor day-to-day plant processes to ensure compliance to food safety standards. Act as a resource for operators/QCs in matters relating to quality and safety; Assist on product problem solving and manufacturing process improvements Preparation and participation in all third party audit, customer audit, and CFIA/FDA inspection, and follow up with related non-conformities and corrective actions implementation. Communicate with the food safety committee and external service suppliers (i.e.: pest control, microbiological laboratory test, equipment calibration, laundry supplier, sanitation chemical suppliers, and etc.); Perform verification and trending activities of the results. Lead and participate in quality meetings.
Requirements BRC and HACCP certification is an asset supervisory experience is an asset Bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, food technology or another relevant field Able to work in fast paced environment in lab and production plant. May travel for training, if required. May go to customer site, if required Proficient computer literacy: MS office required Strong organizational and communication skills, with ability for quick learning. Ability to work with minimal supervision A self-starter and critical thinker Bilingual (English/French/Chinese)
