标题: 谁能告诉我，鹦鹉岛这个名称是怎么来的？
原名是île perrot. 去过几次，也没见到鹦鹉啥的？英文的鹦鹉是　parrot,法文是perroquet.为啥这么译？这个问题困扰我很久了．难道也象lionel-groulx 一样成为＂列宁格勒＂一样来的？

岛名是从人名来的，
人名估计是从鸟名来的，
美国有个rose perot, 估计也是这么回事，跟中国的回字四种写法类似。

英文的parrot来自于法语 Perrot。
perrot是法国沿海方言，即为鹦鹉的意思。

perrot不仅仅是方言，还是中世纪法语，就是鹦鹉的意思。

后来废止不用。

c.1525, perhaps from dial. M.Fr. perrot, from var. of Pierre "Peter;" or perhaps a dial. form of perroquet (see parakeet). Replaced earlier popinjay. The verb "repeat without understanding" is first attested 1596. The Ger. naturalist Alexander von Humboldt in S.America

Perrot 其实是新法兰西的一个人名，
